Savage Arms Impulse Elite Precision - MDT Mention

From Thompson submachine guns to PRS-ready bolt action rifles, Savage Arms has had a fascinating history since its founding in 1894. The company has distinguished itself as an innovator in the firearms industry, consistently producing quality rifles, shotguns, and pistols. Serving hunters, sportsmen, plinkers, and competitive and tactical shooters, Savage Arms offers a wide array of reliable and versatile firearms. Over the years, Savage Arms has maintained its reputation for delivering dependable, affordable, and unique firearms. Several years ago, Savage launched their Savage Impulse family of rifles that feature a straight-pull action. This article will take a closer look at the Savage Impulse Elite Precision rifle.

The Savage Impulse Elite Precision rifle has a straight-pull action design and is quicker to cycle than most normal bolt actions. The Impulse Elite Precision is available in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC with an MSRP of $2,649. The rifle is also available chambered in 300 PRC, .300 Win. Mag. or .338 Lapua Mag. with an MSRP of $2,849. The Impulse Elite Precision has a 1.5-4.0 pound user-adjustable trigger, a precision button-rifled stainless steel modified Palma contour barrel with a threaded muzzle, and Savage's tested receiver configuration. For a chassis system, Savage chose the MDT ACC chassis, which is also found on the Savage 110 Elite Precision Rifle. The chassis features an ambidextrous magazine release, full-length ARCA rail, M-LOK slots, MDT's Elite Pistol Grip, and a 3-way adjustable stock.

While we are discussing Savage, let's take a look at some new-ish firearms that feature MDT Chassis Systems! Savage released the Axis II Precision, the firearm manufacturer's take on a modern, accurate, out-of-the-box, precision bolt-action centerfire rifle for under $1100. The Savage receiver and barrel of the Axis II Precision are mated to a custom MDT chassis, which offers a lot more modification and adjustment capabilities than a typical rifle stock. Along with the Axis II Precision came the affordable Savage A22, B22, and B17 Precision Rifle, which are equipped from the factory with a lightweight, robust MDT Chassis that offers a host of customization and accessories. These little rifles are perfect for plinking, hunting varmints or precision rifle practice or rimfire competition.

Here is a great video demonstrating the Savage A22 being used for practice.
