RimfireSS MDT ACC Premier Gen2 10/22 Build

RimfireSS MDT ACC Premier Gen2 10/22 Build

Long-range shooters and competitors have traditionally used .22-caliber rimfires for practice. Some do so to save money, while others have limited access to ranges. Consequently, rimfire competitions such as NRL-22 and PRS-Rimfire, along with many local events, have grown in popularity. This sport provides an entry point into long-range shooting for shooters of all ages and skill levels. As rimfire sports grow, the need for precision .22 rifles and accessories increases. For MDT, this means offering a variety of chassis compatible with numerous rimfire platforms. Don of RimfireSS's latest video takes viewers on an unboxing and testing of an MDT ACC Premier GEN 2 for the Ruger 10/22 platform.

OVERVIEW

Right out of the box, the ACC Premier Gen 2 makes a strong first impression. Finished in Dark Hunter Green, the chassis features a full-length ARCA rail, an integrated barricade stop, extensive M-LOK mounting surfaces, provisions for internal weights, and night-vision bridge mounting points. Paired with the MDT SRS buttstock, the setup offers adjustable comb height, length of pull, and cheekpiece positioning, all geared toward dialing in a competition-ready rifle.

The build itself revolves around a Powder River Precision Rubicon 10/22 receiver fitted with a Green Mountain 24-inch barrel, a KIDD trigger kit, and an Arken EP5 optic. Don explains why the Rubicon action was chosen, specifically highlighting its consistency and how the ACC’s rear-action mounting system benefits receivers that aren’t compatible with KIDD rear-tang systems. Along the way, he compares several design elements to MDT’s ORYX chassis, noting similarities in bedding design and ergonomics, while highlighting the ACC Premier’s upgraded adjustability, improved buttstock, integrated ARCA rail, and expanded accessory support.

SHOOTING

One of the more interesting moments in the video comes when concerns arise over the barricade stop placement. With a 15-round magazine installed, the magazine protrudes farther forward than expected, raising questions about whether loading aggressively into a barricade could induce feeding malfunctions. After testing the rifle on a KYL rack while intentionally driving pressure into the magazine, the issue largely disappears following a minor magazine modification, turning what initially looked like a major flaw into what the host jokingly calls a “nothing burger.”

FINAL THOUGHTS

The MDT ACC Premier for 10/22 enhances the capabilities and performance of a 10/22 rifle. It’s the ideal addition to any rimfire competitor. And if you don’t have a 10/22, MDT offers models for CZ 457, Tikka T1X, and Volquartsen. For more videos like this, check out the RimfireSS YouTube channel.
