INTRODUCING THE MDT TIMBR CORE

INTRODUCING THE MDT TIMBR CORE

There's a certain appeal to wood stocks. It harkens back to simpler times when camo was flannel and deer camp was more about memories and storytelling. For many, hunting is a tradition—an enduring connection to our past, to those who came before us, and a way to teach future generations. It's in that spirit that MDT introduces the TIMBR Core line of wood stocks.

"It did take us quite a while. We did an incredible amount of work on look, feel, and ergonomics, making sure this was the absolute best wooden stock we could produce," states MDT CEO Maarten Van Ruitenburg. "So with that, we developed the TIMBR Core.".

The TIMBR Core is more than a stock—it's a shooting system carefully crafted to provide shooters with the same quality and accuracy potential as any other in the MDT lineup. To achieve this, MDT uses a V-block bedding system, the same system employed in other MDT chassis, including those used by top MDT professional shooters. The TIMBR surpasses traditional wood stocks and combines the experience and expertise of an elite chassis manufacturer that builds award-winning chassis. It's not your grandfather's old gun, but something entirely new.

"By marrying the V-block system into a performance product with wood, you're actually getting the best of both worlds," adds MDT Team Shooter Francis Colon. "Something that looks equally aesthetic at home in a field, as it is in performance with the best of the best in the competition setting."

Plus, it's easy to install. Drop in your action and torque your action screws. For MDT, the goal was to create an upgraded traditional stock. This includes features such as an adjustable length of pull via spacers, a vertical pistol grip, and compatibility with AICS-pattern bottom metal — combining all the modern comforts with the look and feel of the past. The TMBR Core also has an enlarged barrel channel to fit match barrel profiles. The checkering on the stock is both handsome and ergonomic, providing comfort to hunters in adverse weather conditions. Finally, there are two sling studs along the forend to attach an Oryx bipod and sling. It's a blend of classic and modern design. While it may appear to be something old, it divorces our perception of what we think it should be and becomes what it truly is — a modern wood stock.

ZOOMING OUT

With the introduction of the TIMBR Core, MDT is expanding its product lineup into new areas. They are focusing on products that appeal to all types of shooters and hunters. "Our products win many matches all around the world, and we use that same methodology to bring into this wood stock, the Timbr Core," continues Maarten. "So that you know that if you're out in the woods or you're just generally plinking, you know that you can count on that very high level of accuracy and ergonomics." And that's what the TIMBR Core is at heart—a precision rifle tool. But it's more than a tool. It's a connection to our past. And it's a way for us to connect with future generations.
