I purchased this for a re-barreling project on a Savage 10 Short Action. Although its developed for a Remington, it worked perfectly.
The stock lug had an inside diameter that was several thousands of an inch to short, and did not accept the new prefit barrel. This one slid on snug and worked just perfectly. A permanent marker was used to index the center of the lug in order to ensure it was properly centered on the action. The outside diameter of the lug was ever so slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the action itself, but was flush with the barrel nut I had. All in all, it turned out well both functionally and aesthetically for the Savage Short Action.
As for the lack of a centering screw on the lug for the savage action, it appears that Savage itself has gotten away from using them on their factory lugs.
I give this recoil lug two thumbs up, and have purchased more for my other Savage re-barrelling projects.
