MDT Mention: Tactical Hyve - Scott Satterlee's Rifle Zeroing Process

The Tactical Hyve YouTube channel has hundreds of videos covering many shooting disciplines, including pistol, shotgun, combatives, self-defense, and precision rifle. These videos are taught and demonstrated by subject matter experts with a lot of real-world experience who are some of the best in the field.

Tactical Hyve released a fantastic video of Scott Satterlee demonstrating his unique zeroing process. Scott Satterlee is a former Green Beret who spent 26 years in the United States Army Special Operations Command. Scott has multiple combat tours around the world and is a subject matter expert on CQB and precision rifle. Scott is a nationally ranked precision rifle competitor and has worked with MDT on a number of projects.

In the video, Scott talks about his zeroing methodology, which shakes out the rifle's mechanical accuracy but also considers the shooter, and the ability to be consistent. Scott uses a target with a series of dots and gets up and walks around between shots to simulate a "cold shooter" getting behind a rifle for the first time.

For demonstrative purposes, Scott uses an MDT ACC Chassis System, MDT CKYE-Pod, and Nightforce scope. The rifle's weight, muzzle brake, and Scott's body position negate recoil. Something to note in the video is Scott's perfect body position which is ideal for self-spotting and fast follow-up shots.
