HIGH BC: Mule Deer Final Chapter 2024

HIGH BC: Mule Deer Final Chapter 2024

For High BC, the 2024 Mule Deer season was one for the books. In their latest video, Ashley from High BC recounts the Mule Deer hunts that made 2024 memorable. These include a hunt with new partner Corey Peters, a hunt with Mrs. High BC, a solo hunt in British Columbia's Mule Deer winter range, and finally, an unfortunate hunt with Jake Loen, who missed a bruiser of a buck.

Ashley keeps his hunting content authentic. He doesn't just showcase the highs; he also articulates the challenges of hunting mule deer in rugged terrain, including fog, rain, and harsh Canadian winters. To achieve success, Ashley and his hunting partners use rifles built by Fierce. These include the 6.5 CM Mountain Reaper and the 7mm PRC Rogue. Additionally, the long-action Rogue sits in an MDT HNT26 chassis—ideal for grueling hunts. For optics, the hunters have chosen the Zeiss Conquest V6 3-18x50. (If you're unfamiliar with Zeiss and want to build a big-game hunting rifle, check them out. You won't regret it).

The landscapes and skylines captured in the video are truly mesmerizing, showcasing the beauty of nature in its pristine condition. For hunters like Ashley and anyone who hunts in the mountains of North America, the blood, sweat, and literal tears from the harsh wind cutting against their faces all build up to the moment when the trigger breaks and the sound of the shot reverberates through the mountain valley. When everything settles, the hope is for a clear blood trail and an ethically harvested animal.

But that's just the first half of any successful hunt. The next part involves skinning and quartering before darkness—and other predators—set in, along with the grueling march back to camp. There's nothing like a warm fire and perhaps a well-deserved drink to celebrate success.
