Went with the Precision Bottom Metal to give life to a project that is a departure from my running my standard MDT ESS Chassis. This products here is part of a Remington 700 Build that was conceptualized as a throwback to my beginnings in the Sport of Precision Shooting in 2001. If you’re going for a Chassis or Stock not from MDT that takes M5 pattern Bottom Metal and must have a detachable Magazine, this is your best bet right here. In my case, the MDT Precision Bottom Metal is mated to a drop dead gorgeous Woox Furiosa Chassis with Walnut. When looking for Bottom Metal, MDT got the first look which is because MDT is always releasing something that will work for most projects. Found it immediately and purchased it. Soon as it came in, I installed it, and perfect fit. Only issue I have is Magpul Magazines which I addressed via modifications to the Magazines. I’ll be switching to MDT Metal Magazines as a replacement. MDT is one of only a few manufacturers that I can say is second to none when it comes to quality of products and customer service combined. I’ve bought multiple other MDT Products since getting this one, so there’s all the proof you need.

Bought the MDT bottom metal because of the adjustable magazine release. I need it for my Vudo mounted in a McMillan stock to help with magazine height. It is high quality and allows me to make the correct magazine height settings. Now no feeding issues. Thanks MDT!!

One thing to keep in mind is that if you run Magpul Magazines referenced to what I stated above, you’ll need to file down the flange that locks into the Magazine Release and have the Magazine Release adjusted all the way down. That’s an issue with the Magpul Magazines I’ve experience across the board for Short Actions regardless of what Stock or Chassis I’ve experimented with.
