I have purchased several 2 way locking folding stock adaptors for shotgun builds.

There is no other adaptor I would trust or use.

It would be great if MDT added a Picatinny to Carbine interface to complete the line up of adaptors.

Locks up solid in the open position but in the closed position it has some play. Doesn't rattle or feel janky, it's very smooth and slick. Only consideration to make is the extra LOP from adding this means you'll have to change your scope position because the LOP is noticeably longer. Best part of this is that it fits in my smaller 2 gun case with my 22 so I can carry both out for gopher shoots.

Amazing quality and durability. Super easy to install. Definitely a must purchase for anyone looking to upgrade their rifle.

Great addition to my butt stock, allows me to use smaller carrying bags and shorten for long hikes on my back. Also, takes up less room under my trucks rear seat. Solid and well built.

Great option for transporting in small vehicles and short case. This adapter is rock solid.

Excellent quality, solid build, precise fit, zero play or slack, does not affect my action or accuracy one bit. Makes my 300 WinMag rifle a lot easier to carry and move around!

I would have given it 5 stars because of the overall quality and fit of the build, but it has one small but rather important design flaw. The hex set-screw comes from the factory installed in the 6 o'clock position for right handed shooters. So if the adapter is then flipped around 180 degrees for left handed shooters that same set screw is now in the 12 o'clock position. I can't speak for other brands of guns, but for a Tikka T3X if you then try to draw the bolt completely out of the receiver the cocking indicator on the back base of the bolt collides with the set screw because the screw does not bottom out flush with the collar housing. Obviously, that arrangement is not good for either the set screw or the bolt. The solution to this is an easy fix: simply have the set screw mounted from the factory and either the 3 or 9 o'clock position. That way it doesn't matter which way it gets rotated around, it'll never be in the 12 o'clock position for either right or left-handed shooters. The screw will be on either the inside or outside of the buffer tube (e.g., in either the 3 or 9 o'clock position), and would no longer interfere with the bolt removal.
Other than that, the adapter is an excellent piece of hardware, locks and unlocks smoothly, and is an excellent addition to the MDT chassis.

Appears to be well made but, was found to be defective because the adapter was permanently locked in the folded position. Returning to MDT for a refund. Expected a little more (quality control) from a company like MDT.

Great folding stock adapter. Requires a thin stock. If the stock is too wide, the adapter won’t lock in the folded position.

The MDT folding stock adapter is the best on the market period.

If you don't have one on your build you're missing out on the best accessory your firearm could have.

The only thing I can add to make it even better is a "Picatinny to misc interface adapter" would be a great addition to the line up.

Like many other folks around, I too found the adapter to be extremely stiff initially after installing it. I was a bit concerned for the first few hours, but once I cleaned with alcohol first (the ball plunger within the hinge), then oiled and greased every moving part and contact surface, then everything started moving much better. I'll say at least for the one I received, it seems to be packaged in a relatively "dry" state and not well greased when it left the factory. That said, once greased and exercised for a while (e. g. , worked back/forth and locked closed/locked open), the performance has improved considerably. However, yes, this is a stiff adapter, but it also has zero play/slop. The trade-off is worth it for how I wanted it to perform.
I'll note that when I mentioned grease/oil I was using a combination of: Lucas Oil Semi-Synthetic Assembly Lube, Mil-Comm TW25B Lubricant, and Hoppe's 9 Lubricating Oil.

Top quality! No sloppy fit, very tight. Makes it easier to clean the barrel.

The folding stock adapter is very well made, the lock up is tight without play, The only regret is that I didn’t purchase the lock in the folded position option, however, you can always apply a work around for your particular application. I would have rated this as 5 stars but nothing in life is perfect so 4 stars is as close to perfect as one gets in life.

When MDT started I was in early on their LSS chassis for my riffle, and still use it to this day, all covered in paint and tape residue, riffles are a tool to be used, and not to “parade down the runway” all Gucci, but that’s just my opinion however worthless it may be.

Never forget the little “guy” who help pave the way for your success MDT. I look forward to all the new innovations and great videos, especially your April Fools videos, I believe EVERYTHING you say……. Well not really ;)

Tight fit and easy of use. A great product

This is very well made and having a folding stock is awesome, however… the additional 1.75” makes the length of pull excessively long even for a 6”4” tall person like me. I see MDT has a shorter length of pull skeleton stock but they also need to sell a shorter buffer tube to make their carbine stocks more compatible with the folding stock adapter.
