MDT Expands TIMBR Core Line with Walnut Stock for Savage 110 Rifles

MDT is pleased to announce the release of the Timbr Core Walnut Stock for the RH/SA Savage 110 Short Action, expanding the Timbr Core lineup and bringing classic walnut craftsmanship to a modern, precision-focused rifle stock. Built around an aluminum micro V-Block bedding system, the Timbr Core Walnut Stock delivers the consistency and rigidity expected from a modern precision platform while preserving the warmth and character of a traditional wood stock. The TIMBR Core stock weighs 3 lb 3 oz without the bottom metal (sold separately), offering an excellent balance of stability, recoil control, and field-ready handling.

The walnut construction provides a naturally “dead” shooting feel, absorbing recoil more effectively than many synthetic stocks and remaining comfortable across hot and cold environments. Laser texturing on the grip and forend enhances control and aesthetics, while each walnut blank features unique grain patterns, ensuring every stock has a personalized look and feel.

With the addition of the Savage 110 Short Action (Right-Hand), the Timbr Core Walnut Stock is now available for Remington 700 SA, Ruger American SA, Tikka T3/T3x SA, and Savage 110 Short Action (RH) platforms. The stock supports barrels as large as the Proof Research Sendero contour, far larger than what is typically possible with traditional wood stocks, and is compatible with both CORE Bottom Metal and Hunter Bottom Metal for Savage Short Action rifles, allowing shooters to tailor their setup to their intended application.

Fit and ergonomics are easily adjusted with an adjustable length of pull ranging from 13.94 to 14.94 inches. The stock ships at a 14.2-inch LOP out of the box and includes four ¼-inch spacers, which can be added or removed using a 5/32 hex key to achieve a precise, repeatable fit.

Durability was a key design driver throughout development. The Timbr Core Walnut Stock underwent extensive environmental and destructive testing, including 15,000+ rounds of simulated live fire, multi-day exposure to 100% humidity salt-bath conditions, 80°C heat testing, -20°C deep-freeze testing, followed by live fire, sling stud tear-out testing, and repeated drop testing from over four feet. Data from this testing was used to optimize the final design, including a hidden internal reinforcement screw in the grip, making it stronger and more impact-resistant than most traditional wood stocks.

The Timbr Core Walnut Stock is currently offered in walnut, with laminate versions in Grey/Black and Green/Brown/Black expected to follow shortly. With the Timbr Core Walnut Stock, MDT continues to bridge the gap between tradition and modern performance—delivering a refined rifle stock that offers classic aesthetics, modern precision, and durability built to endure.
