Details

HS3 V shaped bedding
The action sits tightly in the V-Shaped bedding for increased accuracy.

Our HS3 (Hunter/Sniper) Chassis series is a combination of benchrest accuracy, superior ergonomics and specialized design. The new HS3 chassis brings your
bolt action rifle to the next level in versatility and ergonomics, with an instant improvement in accuracy. The chassis itself is only 2.47lb / 1.4kg and was designed based on customer feedback who wanted longer fore ends (3" longer than our LSS), and use fixed rifle stocks (as compared to our LSS chassis which was designed for compact use with collapsible stocks)

The drop-in chassis serves as a base to which the operator can add tactical components according to the desired functionality. The stock is manufactured
out of aluminum, hard anodized to mil spec type III, and has durable Polymer side panels which can be ordered in black or Flat Dark Earth (FDE).

HS3 designed for fixed stocksDesigned to accept fixed AR-15 buttstocks. Carbine stocks will also work.

This chassis was designed to accept Fixed AR-15 butt-stocks and non-beavertail pistol grips. The kit does not include shoulder butt-stock and pistol grip or magazines, offering the option to customize from the wide variety available on the market.

The HS3 chassis uses AICS style magazine in .223 and .308 caliber for short action systems, and 300WM, 30.06 or .338LM for long action systems. Note that the magazine well for Long Action has the 3.715 length, and therefore you need AICS magazine in 3.715.

The chassis supports installation of bolt on MIL-STN-1913 accessory mounting rails on the bottom and sides of the forend. For the sides you will need our specific HS3 Chassis rails. The mounting holes are spaced for Magpul style L5 (11 slots) and L3 (7 slots) rails (1.600” / 3.200”).

The rifle action only makes contact with the HS3 chassis on the V shape bedding and recoil lug area insuring the best accuracy and repeatability. The generous clearance on the forend makes any barrel up to the size of the action itself free floated.

Recoil lug areaRoom for larger recoil lugs

Important Notes

Howa 1500 / Weatherby Vanguard actions
This is the only action that we manufacture a chassis for that has a flat bottom action. For this reason only our Polymer magazines will work. The fitting may need to be modified slightly for proper feeding.
For .223 models the bolt stop may be too long. This can easily be modified.

Savage models 10/110 11/111 12/112 16/116
For rifles with the bolt release at the bottom, the bolt release can be engaged through the side of the chassis, using a pin or tool. (Not included)
Note: Savage has many different models and configurations. In a very few cases, small modifications may be neccesary to the chassis to ensure trigger group and recoil lug clearance.

Savage Long Action in 338 Lapua Magnum

Savage Long Action chassis systems all use 3.715" AICS magazine wells. The BA 110 in Lapua Magnum uses 3.850" magazines and have recently switched to a thicker recoil lug which will not fit our chassis. We will be releasing a version of the ESS in mid 2017, which will be specifically designed around the current BA 110 in 338 Lapua Magnum.

Tikka T3 - Long Calibers
Only our Metal 3.56 magazine will fit with the chassis for this action and needs to be purchased separately.

Browning X-Bolt
Must use metal AICS magazines only. Will not work with .223 Remington or any .378" bolt face cartridge.

Love it
The HS3 chassis is very well made. The fit is top notch and the side panels are much more comfortable than bare aluminum.
Mine houses a Savage 10 FCP-SR and works great !!!

quality product.
I am very happy with this chassis system. I installed my custom made M-24 A3 with no modifications needed. It accepts the ACI mags easily although there is a slight play side to side. I cant really tell if I gained any accuracy since I haven't shot my precision loads through it yet, just experimental reloads. The only minor issue that I have is that the OD side panels are a couple shades off from the Magpul OD green. Great chassis, everything fit the way it was supposed to. Very happy with the end result

Excellent
I had to replace a plastic stock that had an issue. I looked at a few options, but after discussing it with MDT Staff, I went the HS3 route. Right after bolting in my Tikka 223, the group went to sub MOA without trying. Excellent fit and finish and it looks excellent.

Growing Pains
I received the HS3 chassis for my Savage 111 in .338 Lapua. Unfortunately the recoil lug would not fit the slot in the chassis. After 2 hours of creative gun smithing I made it fit. I was assured by Maarten and Gino this had never happened before. Be that as it may it did but they sweetened the deal and made things right so I'm happy now. Oh and I shot under half an inch 4 of 5 shots at 100 yards with the new chassis, skeleton stock and pistol grip.

Very professional and well developed product!
I bought this on clearance for an older Savage 116 (chambered in 300 RUM).

So far I have the chassis installed, replaced the OEM tupperware stock and it looks and feels GREAT! This is also converting the rifle from a blind staggered feed magazine to a DBM from Accurate Mag (AICS pattern); .300 Remington Ultra Mag & .375 Holland & Holland SSSF Magazine (p/n 00100-0044). Still waiting on some bits and pieces before I get to take it to the range.

The receiver on my rifle uses a basic controlled round feed system that Savage employed, so it remains to be seen how that all works together (a lot of products combined from a variety of sources).

Getting the Magpul PRS stock for the AR10 for this build, need as much weight as I can get and I need the space of a shorter cheek rest for bolt removal.

As far as the MDT product goes, I couldn't be happier! Their customer support is outstanding and their merchandise is beyond reproach - buy with confidence.

Delivery from BC to Kitchener, ON quite fast at reasonable cost. Quality excellent. Straight-line config means med or high scope rings (Warne rings, at least) req'd. Overall fit, finish, and feel solid and high quality. Excellent value at any price, pendi
Ordered on a Friday, rec'd the following Wed. Order was packed well and complete (HS3 FDE - Savage SA, V3 buttstock FDE, black grip, 4 x .308 black mags, 2.5" pica rail). Quality of all excellent. Assembly was quick, no issues. Had to run to local hardware to pick up longer 5/32" hex key to reach far enough up inside the grip to tighten the supplied hex bolt to the HS3 chassis. Everything easy to install, everything fit perfectly. Overall weight with scope mounted (Vortex Crossfire II 6x18 44 mm, Warne 1-pc steel base + Warne steel rings) on Savage 11 FXP Trophy SA .308: 11.1 lbs. Not lightweight, but manageable. Overall feel very strong, stable. NOTE: low Warne rings too low for this setup. Only by removing V3 comb could I get head low enough to get sight picture. High Warne rings on order. Follow up range performance review to follow.

Amazing chassis!
Awesome chassis system fits tight on my Remington 700. Shoots tighter groups with this stock than it did in the old one. Customer service at MDT is phenomenal I couldn't have made a better investment.

Impressive chassis system
I bought this for a Savage Model 10 FCP-SR. The chassis installs in minutes with minimal set-up required. The fit and finish is excellent. The fact that you get to use AR15 buttstocks and grips is what makes this chassis system so comfortable. Very relaxed ergonomics allowed me to focus on the target and other shooting techniques. I'm looking for buy another chassis soon as I am building another rifle.

Excellent product and I'll be buying another
I love this chassis. I used a Howa 1500 barreled action in 6.5 Creedmoor, unbelievable accuracy. I decided to build this to get into distance shooting and a little varmint action.
Only fault I see is the V3 attachment point on the HS3 is a bit wiggly.
