The LSS (Light Sniper System) was designed as a lower cost and lighter weight version compared to our TAC21 Chassis.

Also available for Savage and Tikka T3

The LSS chassis for Remington 700 Short Action rifes is designed to accept collapsible AR-15 butt-stock and non beavertail pistol grips. An adapter is available to mount Fixed Butt-stocks. The basic kit does not include shoulder butt-stock and pistol grip or magazine, offering the option to customize from the wide variety available on the market.

The LSS chassis uses AICS / AM style magazine in .223 and .308 caliber, and supports installation of bolt on MIL-STN-1913 accessory mounting rails on the bottom of fore-end. Mounting holes are spaced for Magpul style L5 (11 slots) and L3 (7 slots) rails (1.600” / 3.200”).

The LSS chassis is engineered to minimize warping and distortion. The rifle receiver only makes contact with the LSS chassis on the V shape bedding and recoil lug area insuring the best accuracy and repeatability. The generous clearance on the fore-end makes OEM Standard and Bull barrel free floating.

Amazing minimalist modular product except maybe for back inch Review by G.M.

A true minimalist chassis at a low price. Only issue is with the lack of modularity of the stock adapter.

Many lightweight users will desire a folding stock, but the AR stock adapter wastes an inch & makes implementing this difficult. Though AR stocks are readily available, a bolt action rifle does not have a recoil tube & this is a wasteful element of an otherwise elegant design.

Something like the Ace AR-15 Compact Receiver Block might suffice to permit the attachment of a folding mechanism.

It would be well worth considering a future edition in which the AR tube adapter is replaced with a shorter adapter that can accommodate fixed OR folding stocks. AK or ACE receiver blocks come to mind.

Great work, guys! Very exciting product. (Posted on 5/20/2014)
Simple and elegant design, buy the adaptor for fixed stock too. Review by TDK

The stock takes no time to install and it extremely light weight. It is an ideal option for a light weight tactical rig. It's nice that it uses AI mags too, even though they are more expensive, they always work!

I like the small fore-end, just wish they had the bolt on top piece available now (there are 4 screw holes and 2 locator pin holes in the top surface of the fore-end that allow you to install a top on the fore-end). It will give you something to grab onto when the barrel is hot.

It would be great to install a Magpul PRS sniper stock, but you have to buy the fixed stock adapter to do so. This adds about 3/4 of an inch. Given that this is a no frills stock and is very inexpensive for the quality you get, it is not that big of a deal. It works fine with a carbine stock as long as you have a raised cheek piece adapter.

Overall a nice piece of work! (Posted on 5/20/2014)
Great light weight chassis at a great price Review by Rich

I had been looking to upgrade my SA .308 Remington 700 stock and add a detachable mag when I came across the MDT LSS. I liked the light weight, simple, modular design & price!

I ordered the LSS w/ the fixed stock adapter as I had a Magpul PRS stock. This was the only thing I did not like about my set up. The LOP with the castle nut, adapter and PRS stock was too long for me to be completely happy with. I had to move my scope as far back as my set up would allow to get an acceptable eye relief. Since the issue was with my stock set up I knew there had to be a better option for the LSS.

I FOUND IT!!! I replaced the PRS with a XLR Tactical Stock which mounts directly to the LSS without the need for the castle nut or fixed stock adapter. With this stock I was able to move the scope and achieve the LOP & eye relieve I had with my original remy stock. If you want the fixed stock without the adapter due to the added length of pull, these stocks work perfectly with the LSS and I have been extremely happy with the LSS since making this change.

The LSS chassis was the perfect upgrade for my rifle. I have a strong, ridged base w/ an adjustable set up, no feed issues with the AM mags & tighter groups at 100, 200 & 500 yards...all for a great price. (Posted on 5/20/2014)
